ETR uses Amateur "Packet Radio" to send telemetry to a remote host up to two miles away. In the future, two strands of small chain will be added around each wheel (just like snow chains :-)) to improve traction. The telemetry equipment will be reduced in size by using smaller radios and a smaller TNC (the packet radio node controller, the large vertical device on the top deck). ETR is based on a Max 99 Round Base
